Hello, I'm Lewis, the duck behind DuckTalk
I help tech founders explain what they've built in a way that makes customers, investors and funders say yes.

An unusual route into tech, which turns out to be the point
I trained in Music and Musical Theatre. That doesn't sound especially useful in tech, but it's surprising how often those lessons matter. Performers learn to start with the audience, to tell a story people can follow and to rehearse until the message lands every single time. Interestingly, that's exactly what most tech marketing is missing.
From there, I worked at the Daily Telegraph before joining my first tech startup, where I discovered how much I loved helping technical teams find their voice. I went on to found DuckTalk as a tech marketing agency, and in 2024 co-founded Silicon Mingle, a tech community that now spans Manchester and Leeds.
Along the way, I've also worked in physical security, which included collaborative work alongside the Metropolitan Police and the US Secret Service. Notably, that experience shapes my cybersecurity work, because I understand why security matters as well as how to market it.
DuckTalk has since grown into an advisory and fractional service, which means I can sit with your developers in the morning and your investors in the afternoon, and make sure everyone is telling the same story.
What you can expect from me
Plain English, always. No marketing jargon, and I'll learn your tech jargon so you don't have to translate it for me.
Measured results. Every piece of work is tied to a number that matters to your business.
Honest advice. If something isn't working, or you don't need me, I'll say so.
